Classes
A multidimensional approach. One teacher.
Whether you are looking for group reformer, one-to-one programming, post-rehab clinical work, or athletic conditioning for riders and equestrians, we can cater for all needs. No class goes above 8 people.
01
Reformer Classes
Small group work on the machine, eight at most, with the spring tension set to you.
Reformer classes offer additional challenges in terms of resistance, in a small group-focused environment. If you want to rehabilitate after an injury, sculpt and tone, or build stamina and strength, this is where most people start.
By altering the spring tension or changing how gravity loads a movement, the same exercise can be made easier for one person and considerably harder for the next. That is what lets a mixed-ability group work together on the reformer.
Classes run Monday through Friday at beginner and intermediate level. Alongside the reformer we use foam rollers, toning balls, fitness circles and resistance bands.

One-to-One Pilates
Includes a Postural Assessment, with a programme tailored for your body.
Wicklow Pilates Studio is a specialist in this discipline. Numerous clients are referred by medical practitioners and physiotherapists and trust us to provide Pilates training on an individual basis, with a tailored programme and the highest attention to detail.
Once a Postural Assessment has been completed, Jacqueline devises a programme suitable for your posture, using whichever studio equipment applies: the Cadillac, the Stability Chair, the Spine Corrector or the Barrels.
In shoulder rehab, for example, we have seen real success with clients working on the Cadillac. Sporting clients tend to find that the Stability Chair and the Reformer balance out muscular weaknesses and improve overall core strength.
If you are recovering from an injury, have a specific fitness goal, or would rather not be in a class, this is the one to book.

- One hour
- Price
- €70 per session

03
Clinical Pilates
Post rehabilitation work, for when the physio and therapy work is completed.
Clinical Pilates is for post rehab clients, where they are correctly monitored and managed on their return to full fitness and recovery.
Many clients come to Wicklow Pilates Studio via Medical Referrals. Specialist physiotherapists and local GPs refer clients to the studio regularly, once the formal course of treatment has finished and the person still needs to rebuild.
The programme is built from a Postural Assessment and adapted as you change. Load is added where it is safe to add load, and kept off the structures that cannot take it yet.
- Osteoporosis and bone health
- Loading bone safely, avoiding the risky positions
- Menopause and wellness
- Defending muscle and bone through the transition
- Active ageing
- Balance, strength and staying independent
- Spine health
- Backs, necks, scoliosis and disc history

Complete Equestrian Pilates
Strength, stability and suppleness for riders, taught by a former event rider.
As a rider, do you struggle with balance, strength and control on the horse? Do you experience pain?
With over twenty years of Pilates teaching and movement therapy behind her, and as a former event rider herself, Jacqueline has built a programme specifically for riders. It is based on a simple framework: maximising strength, stability and suppleness.
The work targets the rider faults that no amount of riding fixes, because the cause is not on the horse. Tipping in the saddle and the lower back pain that follows. Collapsing through one side. A fixed or unsteady hand. Not being able to turn the body easily, or a leg aid the horse ignores.
