Terms
A note before you read on. This sets out how booking and payment work at the studio, in plain English. It is a starting point written for a small studio, not a solicitor's document, and it should be reviewed against Irish consumer law before it is relied on in a dispute.
Who we are
Wicklow Pilates Studio, Ashford, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. You can reach us on +353 86 224 3470 or at jcobbe@icloud.com.
Booking a class
Classes are sold as terms, normally six weeks. A place is held once the term has been paid for in full. Booking lists go up one to two weeks before a new term begins, and places are allocated in the order they are confirmed.
- All clients fill out a health form before attending classes. The studio reserves the right to screen clients from a class if it is not suitable for them.
- Classes are payable in full on or before the day the term starts, to hold your place. Revolut, bank transfer or cash.
- A 24 hour cancellation policy applies. Inside that, the class is charged for.
- If you miss a class within a term you may attend another class in that same term, subject to a space being free. It is not automatic, and missed classes cannot be carried into a new term.
- Let Jacqueline know one to two weeks ahead if you are going to miss classes, for holidays or anything else.
- Places for each new term are booked with the instructor. Booking lists go up one to two weeks before the term starts.
- If you are away for part of a term you have booked, you can either pay for the term in full at the reduced rate, or pay for the classes you plan to attend at the drop-in rate.
- Wear something you can move in: leggings, shorts, a tracksuit. Jeans restrict movement and are not advised.
- Booking two classes a week earns a 10% discount on terms longer than four weeks.
Health and suitability
Everyone completes a health questionnaire before their first class. You are responsible for telling us about injuries, medical conditions, surgery, pregnancy and any medication that affects how you should exercise, and for keeping us up to date if that changes.
The studio reserves the right to decline a booking, or to move someone to a different class or to one-to-one work, where a class is not suitable for them. That decision is always made on safety grounds.
Pilates is exercise, not medical treatment. Teaching here does not create a clinician and patient relationship and does not replace assessment or treatment by your GP, physiotherapist or consultant. If a movement causes sharp, new or worsening pain, stop and say so.
Cancellations and missed classes
Twenty-four hours' notice is required to cancel a class. Inside that window the class is charged for. If you miss a class within a term you may attend another class in the same term where there is space, but this is subject to availability and is not automatic. Missed classes cannot be carried into a new term.
If the studio has to cancel a class, you will be offered an alternative class or the session will be added to the end of your term.
Payment
Payment is in full on or before the first day of the term, by Revolut, bank transfer or cash. Prices are shown on the timetable page and may change between terms; the price you are quoted when you book is the price you pay for that term.
Gift vouchers
Vouchers are issued for a stated value or a stated number of sessions, are not exchangeable for cash, and are valid for twelve months from the date of issue unless stated otherwise on the voucher.
